Matthew 14:17 ”We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” 18 “Bring them here to me,” he said.
When the disciples made It public to Jesus what “they had”, his response was “bring it to me.”
Simple thought & simple question:
“Have you brought what you have to Jesus?”
- You have a business savvy mind, great, bring it to Jesus.
- You are good teaching kids, awesome, bring it to Jesus.
- You have a craftsman/carpenter skill? Great! But have u brought it to Jesus?
My Dad (George Deuth) is a great example of this. By trade he’s a carpenter & for most of my life he’s run & owned his own construction company.
And if anyone I know who obeyed the command to “bring it to Jesus”, its him. While my dad is a carpenter he’s always used that gift as a way to encourage, love & tell people about Jesus.
- growing up I used to go on the job with him often to work on some kitchen remodel or sliding glass door installation. And I can hardling think of a time that my dad didn’t ask the customer if there was something that he could pray with them about. Or encourage the person or invite them to Church, or share his faith with them. To say he was or is a carpenter is true but since he brought it to Jesus, Jesus has made it “way more than it could have ever been on its own”.
Here’s the process.
Step 1 - Identify what God has given you.
Step 2 - “Bring it to Jesus”
Step 3 - Jesus will bless it & give it back to you
Step 4 - Do work & watch what God does!
The best way for your skill to thrive & your idea to reach its full potential is to let it be used for His purpose. Don’t settle for letting what you have “one boys lunch” to just feed yourself. Whats in your hands has more purpose & more fulfillment not only for you, but for potentially the 10’s of thousands that you’ll influence in your life. Put it in Jesus’s hands so that your vision can become a blessing to the masses!
